To beef up. = To become heavier, stronger or to add on.

Something funny. = Strange, not normal, unusual.
There's something funny about the way he is speaking. I think he's trying to hide something.
Out dated. = Old, out of style, not in use, too old to use.
Although the clothes that I wear are outdated, I think that they are sharp.
Wholly. = 100% everything.
I'm wholly adverse to eating natto.
Arm-twisting. = To influence or force someone to do something by threat of force of coercion.
The U.S. is doing a lot of arm-twisting to get South Korea to co-operate.
To come down with. = To get the symptoms and the feeling of illness.
He has a headache, the chills and aching joint. I guess he's coming down with the flue.
Down the road. = Someday.
I have plans to go back to the States for a while but that's down the road.
To drop in. = To visit someone or someplace unexpectedly. Usually for a social visit.
If you have some free time why don't you drop in and chew the fat.
To chew the fat. = To discuss or just talk about a number of topics, not usually in a serious manner.
My brother and I like to chew the fat about the Yankees.
